The Whole Story

Growing up, I faced a series of challenges: being molested, staying in shelters, rummaging through donations for clothes, and lacking a stable home. It wasn't until I became a mother that I realized I was a product of brokenness, witnessing the cycles of pain and dysfunction repeating themselves in my life. This awakening pushed me to change within myself so I could be a better parent.

Reflecting on my past, I was heartbroken over the unhealthy decisions I made that impacted my two children. I sought to redefine my approach to parenting through self-help books, which offered some improvement, but I soon realized that these strategies weren't breaking the cycles ingrained in my life. I was trapped in a cycle of mental anguish, masking my struggles with a smile.

At the age of 30, I surrendered my life to Christ, which led to profound generational breakthroughs and healing from multiple sclerosis. I found restoration both spiritually and physically, and my journey took a new direction: I became a missionary dedicated to sharing the promise of God with women and children in orphanages.

By 40, I was blessed to marry my husband, Willie Mitchell, and together we welcomed two more children into our family. As ministers of the Gospel, we are committed to serving vulnerable families and our community, instilling in our children the importance of giving back locally and globally.

During the pandemic, we began actively engaging with homeless camps, providing spiritual support while our youngest daughter, Mary, took the initiative to distribute clothing and toys to children in need. After three years of allowing God to use our passion to uplift families, we launched Covering Kidz to further extend our outreach and reinforce support for those in need.
